Jordan is Iraq’s strategic partner, says SIIC chief

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Chairman of the Iraqi Islamic Council (SIIC) Ammar al-Hakim said on Tuesday that Jordan is a strategic partner of Iraq in the region, the SIIC said in a statement. This came during his meeting with Jordanian King Abdullah II in Amman. “Jordan is an important player in Iraqi-Arab relations,” the statement quoted al-Hakim as saying. ” The SIIC is working with other Iraqi powers to boost relations with Arab and regional countries,” it added. “Al-Hakim’s visit comes within his multi-leg Arab tour which took him to Bahrain and Qatar,” it noted.
