SDF completely recapture the city of Raqqa
Raqqa (Syria News) Syrian Democratic Forces militia (SDF) managed, on Tuesday, to fully recapture the city of Raqqa, after clashes with the Islamic State group, Qasioun News reported.
The news outlet revealed that the Syrian Democratic Forces were able, today, to recapture the city of Raqqa completely, after violent battles with the Islamic State militants that lasted for more than 130 days.
Meanwhile, destiny of around 200-250 Islamic State fighters who were in the area of al-Malaab and refused to evacuate the city is left unknown.
Last week, 200 Islamic State militants surrendered to the SDF, based on an agreement made to evacuate Islamic State fighters from the city of Deir Ezzor.
It is noteworthy that the Syrian Democratic Forces launched an offensive on June 6, backed up by the US-Led Coalition, to retake the city from the Islamic State group.
