Tight security in Arbil during Youth Asia Cup

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: Tight security measures have been put in place in the capital of Iraq’s Kurdistan region, Arbil, which hosts the Youth Asia Cup from Nov. 5-15. “Nearly 500 personnel from the emergency and traffic police as well as the Asayesh (Kurdish for security) forces are taking part in the security operation to render the event a success,” a local police source told IraqiNews.com news agency. Six countries, including Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Afghanistan, Oman, and India are participating in the tournament, which will kick off later today.
