Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Iraqi wharfs have been readmitted by the International Maritime Organization, ending 37 years of exclusion, the Iraqi Ministry of Transport.

Alsumaria News quoted a ministry statement saying that the international organization “registered Iraqi wharfs again after exclusion since 1980”.

It said the admission will apply to all seafronts that were not registered as part of the program prepared by the ministry for the coming years.

It added that the decision by the organization came as it verified the Iraqi facilities’ conformity with international standards, the outcome of a campaign launched by the ministry three months earlier.
