Plot of land allocated to build 5,000 housing units in Baghdad
BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Baghdad Mayoralty on Sunday said that it has allocated a plot of land for the Political Prisoners Institution to build 5,000 housing units south of the capital city. “The Mayoralty, after the higher committee approved the basic design, decided to allocate a plot of land in the area of Karara, near al-Mechanic neighborhood in al-Dora district, for the Political Prisoners Institution to build 5,000 integrated housing units,” Mayor Saber al-Issawi was quoted in a statement received by IraqiNews.com news agency. Issawi gave the statements during a meeting with the acting minister of youths & sports Jassem Mohammed Jaafar and his accompanying delegation. “The meeting saw agreement on some programs to back and improve conditions of families of political prisoners like offering them jobs in the Baghdad Mayoralty and granting them free access to the Mayoralty’s entertainment and tourist sites,” Issawi added.
