Thi-Qar reports first confirmed H1N1 case

THI-QAR / IraqiNews.com: Director of the Thi-Qar health department has reported the first confirmed case of H1N1 flu after medical checkups of two suspected cases at a hospital in northern Thi-Qar. “The medical tests made at the health ministry’s laboratories in Baghdad of two citizens from al-Refaie district in Thi-Qar confirmed that one of them is carrying the H1N1 virus,” Hadi al-Riyahi told IraqiNews.com news agency. “He was quarantined in a special hall at al-Refaie hospital (90 km north of Nassiriya),” he added, asserting that the other suspected case’s tests will be announced shortly.
