In-kind winter aid for 300 displaced families in Najaf

NAJAF / IraqiNews.com: The migrants and displaced department in Najaf office on Sunday handed out winter aid for 300 displaced families inhabiting mud-brick homes in al-Rahma neighborhood and other areas, the office director said. “The in-kind aid items, handed out by the department in association with the UN High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR), comprised gas-operated heaters, blankets, covers, culinary utensils and household appliances,” Mashkour al-Musawi told IraqiNews.com news agency. He said that the number of displaced families that had returned to their original dwelling places has reached 1800, adding there are about 9500 officially registered families that had been forced to leave their homes in hot spots in Baghdad, Diala, Ninewa and Babel.
