4 suspected bombers nabbed in Kut

WASSIT / IraqiNews.com: Four persons were arrested in western al-Kut city on Friday on charges of having planted an improvised explosive device (IED), a police source in Wassit province said. “Policemen arrested on Friday (Nov. 6) four persons in al-Ahrar district, (25 km) western Kut, on charges of having emplaced an IED that targeted Iraqi and U.S. forces,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The four suspects were arrested in a search raid conducted by police forces in the area in accordance with intelligence tip-offs,” he added. The Wassit’s bomb squad department personnel earlier on Friday defused an IED planted by unidentified persons at the entrance of al-Ahrar district.
