Trump says five ‘most wanted’ Islamic State members arrested

“Five Most Wanted leaders of ISIS just captured!” Trump wrote in a post on Twitter. No further details about where or when the members were arrested were provided.
According to Reuters, Trump might could have been indicating the five IS leaders who were arrested by Iraqi security forces.
A statement on Thursday by the U.S.-led Coalition Spokesman Army Col. Ryan Dillon called the arrest a “significant blow to Daesh,” using the Arabic acronym for the extremist group.
On Wednesday, the Iraqi intelligence announced luring five IS leaders from Syria and arresting them in Iraq.
The Joint Operations Command said on Tuesday, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the group’s supreme leader, is at Eastern Euphrates region, where U.S. troops are deployed.
Earlier this week, Iraqi warplanes launched a new wave of air raids against outposts of the Islamic State group in Syria.
Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi denied,in April, intentions to intervene within Syrian affairs, saying airstrikes against Islamic State will continue.
Iraq had previously announced launching airstrikes against IS locations in Syria. This came after Abadi said security troops will follow IS militants in the whole region, not only in Iraq.
The Iraqi-Syrian borders are under the control of joint troops of military and border guards.
