Four people killed, injured in explosion, armed attack in Baghdad: Sources
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Four people were killed and injured in a bomb blast, armed attack in Baghdad, security sources said on Thursday.
Speaking to Alghad Press, the source said, “an explosion of a bomb, placed under a vehicle on al-Mashtal bridge, east of Baghdad, left one person killed and two others, including the vehicle’s owner, seriously injured.”
Moreover, another security source said a civilian was killed in an armed attack, north of Baghdad.
“A civilian was killed, today, in an armed attack carried out by unidentified people in Sabaa al-Bor region,” the source told AlSumaria News.
Baghdad has recently seen significant security stability, however, some bomb blasts take place in sporadic regions across the capital every now and then.
A total of 76 people were killed and 129 others were injured due to acts of terrorism, violence and armed conflicts during the month of June, casualty figures recorded by the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI).
Diyala was the worst affected Governorate, according to the report, with 52 civilian casualties (16 killed, 36 injured), then came Kirkuk (10 killed, 36 injured) then Baghdad (19 killed and 18 injured).
Islamic State continues to launch sporadic attacks across Iraq against troops. Security reports indicate that the militant group still poses threat against stability in the country.
