Three mobilization fighters injured in explosion, east of Mosul
Mosul (IraqiNews.com) Three mobilization fighters were wounded as a booby-trapped vehicle exploded, east of Mosul, a security source said on Sunday.
Speaking to BasNews,Lt. Gen. Ali al-Jasem, from the tribal fighters, said “three fighters were injured as a booby-trapped motorbike, parked on a street in Kokjli region, east of Mosul, near the television station.”
No further details were provided.
On Monday, the center said Nineveh troops arrested five Islamic State female members. They had pledged allegiance to the militant group through Islamic State’s mufti known as Abu Ayyoub. They worked for al-Hisbah (Vigilantism) department. One of them used to work as a biter, who bites women using an iron tool while the group was in control of the city.
A total of 79 Iraqi civilians were killed and another 99 injured in acts of terrorism, violence and armed conflict in Iraq in July 2018, according to casualty figures recorded by the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI).
Baghdad was the worst affected Governorate, with 63 civilian casualties (30 killed, 33 injured), followed by Kirkuk (8 killed, 34 injured) and Nineveh (13 killed and 05 injured).
Thousands of Islamic State militants as well as Iraqi civilians were killed since the government campaign, backed by paramilitary troops and the coalition was launched in October 2016.
