Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Kuwait Embassy in Baghdad advised on Wednesday nationals wishing to travel to Iraq during the month of Muharram to stay away from unsecured roads during their visit.

In a statement received by the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), the embassy guided Kuwaiti citizens willing to visit religious shrines in Iraq to comply with local laws and regulations and not to use unsecured roads due to the unstable security situation in many Iraqi governorates.

It also advised Kuwaiti citizens not to travel by road from Iraq to Kuwait and vice versa and not to stop at rest houses, except when necessary.

Each visitor, according to the statement, should carry an ID card bearing the phone number of the campaign and the hotel’s name, while also adhering to health standards in handling food and beverages.

The statement urged Kuwaiti visitors willing to move to other provinces to inform the owner of the campaign first and get his approval.

It also demanded that Kuwaitis abide by the time set for residence granted to them, which is one month; otherwise they would pay a fine.

The Kuwaiti visitors were advised to contact the embassy at any time and under any circumstances, as the embassy members will be ready to respond to their calls and provide assistance through the following numbers: (+9647831111333) – (+9647831111222) – (+9647830000444) Landline: (+964017764545)
