Saleh says gov’t keen on providing all possible facilities for investors
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Iraqi President Barham Saleh said on Tuesday that the government is keen on providing all possible facilities for investors to give a push to the national economy and create job opportunities.
The president made the remarks during a meeting with a delegation representing the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, which included a number of businessmen and heads of American companies, Baghdad Today news agency quoted the Iraqi presidency as saying in a statement.
According to the statement, the meeting tackled deeply-rooted relations between Egypt and the U.S. as well as ways of developing them in all fields, particularly in the domain of economic partnerships.
“There are many investment opportunities in Iraq, covering various sectors, including health, communications, agriculture and others,” Saleh said. “Iraq is eager to make use of long experience of the U.S. firms in these fields.”
For his part, Vice President of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Steve Lutes said that his country is looking forward to making use of the investment opportunities in Iraq in order to provide job opportunities for Iraqis and maintain a sustainable reconstruction process of the country.
Lutes further stressed his country’s keenness on boosting cooperation with Iraq “in a manner that reflects special and strategic relations between the two countries, particularly in the economic, trade and investment fields.”
