Baghdad’s Zayouneh cordoned off after pilgrim wounded
BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: A security cordon was imposed on the area of Zayouneh, northern Baghdad, after a civilian man was wounded when unidentified gunmen attacked a procession of pilgrims to the holy Shiite city of Karbala, a senior security source said on Friday. “The procession was coming back from Karbala when the attack took place, leaving one pilgrim wounded,” Maj. Gen. Qassem Atta, the official spokesman for the Baghdad Operations Command (BOC), told IraqiNews.com news agency. “I was in the area when the incident took place and my vehicle came under fire attack but security forces fired back,” Atta added.
