Armed group leader arrested in Baghdad

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi security forces managed to arrest the electricity minister of the Islamic State of Iraq in Baghdad and a number of suspected gunmen in Salah el-Din province, a statement of the Interior Ministry said on Thursday. “Acting on intelligence information, the national investigation and information agency arrested last Monday (Feb. 8) the electricity minister of what is called the Islamic State of Iraq in Arab Jubour region,” said the statement received by IraqiNews.com news agency. “The agency found a weapons depot in Baghdad, around 30km from the al-Sakra compound,” it added. “A joint force of Salah el-Din operations arrested five suspected gunmen in al-Bu Fares region in Yathreb district in Balad,” the statement added.
