Salih urges int’l companies to make use of investment opportunities in Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Iraqi President Barham Salih has called on the international companies to make use of the investment opportunities available in Iraq and contribute to the reconstruction of the liberated areas.

Salih made the remarks during a meeting with UK Secretary of State for International Trade Liam Fox and his accompanying delegation, the Iraqi presidency said in a press statement on Monday.

The two sides reviewed relations between Iraq and the UK, especially in the fields of trade and economy, and reiterated the need to expand them in a manner that helps serve the interest of the two countries and fulfill the aspirations of the Iraqi and British peoples.

The Iraqi president thanked the UK government for its support of Iraq in the war against terrorism, stressing the need to strength bilateral relations in different fields.

For his part, Fox reiterated his country’s support for Iraq in various fields, pointing out that the UK will spare no efforts to promote economic and trade cooperation with Iraq.
