14 wanted persons arrested in Basra

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: Policemen in Basra captured 14 persons wanted on “criminal and terrorist” charges, seized Katyusha rockets, arms and munitions and defused an improvised explosive device during search raids all over Basra on Friday, a local police source said. “Security forces in Basra conducted search raids all over the province, arresting three suspected of having fired rockets at the Basra International Airport last night and 11 others wanted on criminal charges,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “Also, the raiding forces seized five Katyushas, three mortars, one RPG-7 shell, two Kalashnikov assault rifles and one precision rifle as well as dismantled one IED,” the source added.
