Municipality of Baghdad renovates Al-Mutanabbi Street

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Municipality of Baghdad officially reopened Al-Mutanabbi Street in the capital of Iraq. The historical street has undergone major renovations including new walkway pavements, additional book kiosks, rehabilitated buildings and galleries. The renovation is part of the Baghdad Renaissance Project.

Al-Mutanabbi is an iconic street where many Iraqi locals visit to purchase or read a glimpse from the thousands of books displayed freely. Referenced from the legendary Iraqi poet Al-Mutanabbi, the street is also a center for many cultural artworks and a hub for the intellectual community.
