Karbala blast carried out by suicide bomber- governor

KARBALA / IraqiNews.com: The bombing that hit Karbala earlier today was carried out by a suicide bomber who was distributing fruit to visitors in the city, the local governor said on Wednesday. “The bomber drove his car into Fariha area, telling checkpoint personnel that he will distribute fruit to visitors,” Governor Amal al-Din al-Hir told IraqiNews.com news agency. The governor has pointed the finger at the Baath Party and al-Qaeda-in-Iraq (AQI). Earlier today, a blast hit Karbala‘s Fariha area, killing 23 and wounding 147 others, mostly women and children.
