Karbala explosion casualties rise to 181

KARBALA / IraqiNews.com: The toll from the explosion that took place in eastern Karbala earlier today has reached 181, a security source said on Friday. “Casualties from the explosion that occurred in Qantarat al-Salam region in eastern Karbala have reached 31 dead and 150 wounded persons,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. Karbala Governor, Amal al-Din al-Herr, had said earlier that at least 27 persons were killed and 56 others were wounded in the explosion that took place in eastern Karbala on Friday. This the second attack of its kind in the region in two days, as an explosive charge went off at 1:00am on Wednesday (Feb. 3) in the same region, killing six and injuring 19.
