Al-Qaeda leader arrested in central Kirkuk

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi security forces arrested an al-Qaeda leader in central Kirkuk, a source from the joint coordination center said on Thursday. “A force from the Criminal Information and National Investigation Department arrested late Wednesday (Jan. 13) three persons on the Baghdad road in central Kirkuk,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “Preliminary investigation showed that one of them is a leader of al-Qaeda in Kirkuk, Diala and Tikrit regions and his name is Maki Abdullah al-Azzawi,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The two other men are wanted in accordance to law 4 terrorism,” he added.
