2 AQI operatives nabbed in Kirkuk
KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: Police forces arrested on Saturday two operatives of Al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) network involved in threatening Christians in the northern Iraq city of Kirkuk. “The two AQI members are involved in threatening local residents, especially Christians, in Kirkuk,” Brig. Abdullah Tamor told reporters. He said that the two operatives worked on collecting ransom money to fund AQI activities. The oil-rich Kirkuk, a city of mixed Arab, Kurdish, Turkmen and a Christian minority population, lies 250 km northeast of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. MH (P)/AmR 2
