3 wounded in IED blast south of Kirkuk

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: Three persons, including one policeman, were wounded on Saturday when an improvised explosive device (IED) went off in central al-Touz district, south of Kirkuk, according to a local police source. “The IED blast targeted a group of policemen investigating an earlier IED blast in the same area,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The first blast did not leave any casualties but the second one left two civilians and one policemen wounded,” he added, not giving further details. The oil-rich Kirkuk, a city of mixed Kurdish, Arab and Turkmen population, lies 250 km north of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. AmR (P) 2
