2 cops killed in Mosul attack

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: Two Iraqi policemen have been killed in an attack on a security checkpoint in downtown Mosul City, a local security source said on Monday. “At noon, unknown gunmen opened fire on a police checkpoint in al-Jame al-Kabeer area, central Mosul,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. The attack left two policemen dead, the source explained. Earlier today, unknown gunmen driving a motorbike opened fire on an Iraqi army checkpoint in Sumar neighborhood, southeastern Mosul, killing two soldiers.
