Civilian wounded in grenade blast in Mosul

NINEWA /Iraqi News A civilian man was wounded in a hand-grenade attack that targeted a police checkpoint near a church in central Mosul city on Sunday, a local police source in Ninewa said. “A hand-grenade was hurled at a police checkpoint in al-Sha’areen souk (market) in central Mosul, leaving a civilian man in the area wounded,” the source told Iraqi News. The source did not give further information about the attack. Mosul, the capital city of the violence-ridden province of Ninewa, lies 405 km north of Baghdad. AmR (P)/SR 2
