Sunni, Shiite agendas attempt to disturb Iraqi election – Odierno

BAGHDAD /Iraqi News Commander of the U.S. forces in Iraq, General Raymond Odierno, said that different agendas of Sunni and Shiite states are attempting to disturb Iraq’s upcoming parliamentary election. “It is important to prevent Iraq’s neighbors from affecting the country’s election,” Odierno told the Voice of America (VOA) on Wednesday. He said that political elites in Iraq should work for Iraq not for these agendas. “Upcoming election in Iraq will affect the whole Middle East region,” Odierno said.
