Talks with Gul, Erdogan constructive, useful – Allawi

BAGHDAD /Iraqi News Meetings with Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan were “constructive and very useful”, according to Iyad Allawi, the leader of the Iraqi National List (INL), in statements from Turkey, where he is paying a visit. “Allawi and his accompanying delegation wrapped up a visit to Turkey as part of some a tour that is taking him to some Arab, Gulf and Islamic nations,” according to an INL release received by Iraqi News. Allawi, the former Iraqi prime minister, expressed content over his visit to Turkey, where he had talks on issues of common interests and stability in a volatile Middle East region. “Iraq, Turkey and some other countries in the Middle East have to work on strengthening moderation, stability and peace in the region as well as building bridges with Europe and Asia through Turkey,” he said during a press conference he held at the end of his visit.
