Silent protest at anti-Christian attacks in Mosul

DUHUK /Iraqi News The Chaldean Church in northern Iraq has organized a silent demonstration to express solidarity with the Christians in Mosul City, who were the target of several terrorist attacks. “Hundreds of residents of central Qoosh have called on the government to stop the attacks against Christians in Mosul and to provide security for them,” an official from the Chaldean Cultural Association in al-Qoosh district, Ghazwan al-Yas, told Iraqi News. “According to our information, 250 families have left Mosul city for Qoosh, Talsaqaf and Batnaya,” he added. Throughout the past 10 days, Christians in Mosul have been the target of terrorist attacks that left seven of them dead and four others wounded. Mosul, the capital city of Ninewa province, lies 405 north of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. SS (P) 317
