Tareq al-Hashemi arrives in Damascus

BAGHDAD /Iraqi News Iraqi Vice President Tareq al-Hashemi arrived in Damascus on Monday within his multi-leg Arab tour to discuss bilateral relations and to meet the Iraqi community, media spokesman for the al-Hashemi’s office said. “Al-Hashemi will discuss with Syrian official ways of boosting bilateral relations,” Abdulelah Kadhem told Iraqi News. “The vice president will meet with the Iraqi community in Syria to encourage them to take part in the coming elections,” he added. “The two-day visit aims to assure Arabs on the condition of Iraq,” he said.
