Maliki’s bloc leading in 50% of special vote results in Muthanna

MUTHANNA /Iraqi News Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki’s Dawlat al-Qanoon (State of Law) bloc was shown leading with 2613 votes in 50% of the results of special ballot in al-Muthanna province, according to the director of the vote counting center in al-Samawa. “Maliki’s bloc garnered 2613 out of a total 5432 eligible votes, which make up 50% of the preliminary results of the special ballot in Muthanna,” Riad al-Mudhaffar told Iraqi News. A special vote casting service had been offered a week ago for policemen, army soldiers, prison inmates and patients inside hospitals as well as displaced persons. AmR (P) 5
