Kurdish Parliament begins new term

ARBIL /Iraqi News The parliament of Iraq’s Kurdistan region held a regular session today, marking the beginning of its new legislative term after the end of its winter recess. The session was confined to the inaugural speech of Speaker Kamal Karkouki, in which he made reference to draft laws that had been discussed during the previous term, as well as others awaiting debate and approval by the council. “There are many bills that had a first reading and have been referred to parliamentary committees. The Parliament will begin its new term with debates over those bills…,” Karkouki said after the end of the session. SS (P) 1
