Talabani meet U.S. commander, ambassador

BAGHDAD /Iraqi News Iraqi President Jalal Talabani on Tuesday held a meeting with the commander of the U.S. forces in Iraq, General Raymond Odierno, and U.S. Ambassador Christopher Hill, according to a presidential statement. “The meeting, which was held in Sulaimaniya, tackled means of boosting bilateral ties in various domains and the latest political developments in the country,” said the statement received by Iraqi News. “The visiting U.S. delegation reiterated the U.S. support ti the democratic and political process in Iraq,” the statement added. “Kurdistan region’s Prime Minister, Barham Saleh, and a number of senior officials in the region as well as official of the U.S. embassy attended the meeting,” it said.
