NINEWA /Iraqi News Some 120,000 voters in the district of Talafar, northwest of Mosul, will head for the ballot boxes on Sunday to cast their votes in the country’s legislative elections, according to an election official on Saturday. “Iraq’s Independent High Electoral Commission has wrapped up preparations for the nearly 120,000 voters to appear Sunday by opening 54 centers comprising 250 stations all over the district of Talafar, (60 km) northwest of Mosul,” IHEC source told Iraqi News. A security source had told Aswat al-Iraq that groups belonging to Al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) network have left circulars on public places in Talafar threatening voters that they would be target for attacks if they headed to the ballots Sunday.
