Police director in Salah al-Din survives assassination attempt

SALAH AL-DIN /Iraqi News A police director in al-Shurqat district, Salah al-Din, has escaped an attempt on his life when an explosive device targeted his motorcade, a local security source said on Saturday. “This evening, an improvised explosive device (IED) hit the motorcade of the director of the Left Coast Police in al-Shurqat (100 km north of Tikrit)…,” a source from the Joint Coordination Center told Iraqi News. “The blast caused damage to the vehicle carrying the official, but no casualties were reported,” the source pointed out.
