Clashes between supporters of competing blocs in Sulaimaniya

SULAIMANIYA /Iraqi News Clashes have erupted between supporters of different electoral blocs in Sulaimaniya City, eyewitnesses said on Wednesday. “This evening, clashes broke out between hundreds of supporters who were carrying banners and flags for the Kurdistan Alliance (KA), the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and the Change Movement,” said a correspondent for Iraqi News, who was at the site of the clashes. Nearly 40-50 civilian vehicles were damaged in the clashes, urging security forces to intervene and block off some main streets in the city, the correspondent noted.
