High-ranking gunman nabbed in Anbar

ANBAR / IraqiNews.com: Police forces in al-Anbar arrested a high-ranking member of the so-called Islamic State of Iraq armed group. “The arrest operation took place in Rawa district, relying on intelligence tip off,” a local police force told IraqiNews.com news agency. He explained that the gunman was at his house, resisted arrest, and engaged with the police forces. “The armed man engaged in gun shooting with police,” the source noted. He pointed out that the gunman was injured, as were two of the policemen. “Arms and ammunition were found in the armed man’s house,” the source stressed.
