URGENT / Al-Qaeda’s military commander in Anbar busted

ANBAR / IraqiNews.com: Police forces managed on Friday to arrest the military commander of al-Qaeda network in Anbar in northern Ramadi, a member of the media office of the Anbar police department said. “Acting on a tip-off, police and army forces arrested Mahmoud Suleiman in a house in Albu Faraj region in northern Ramadi,” Lieutenant Ali al-Maamouri told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The forces besieged his house and arrested him without incident,” he added, noting that they defused an explosive belt he was wearing and seized seven explosive charges in a secret hideout inside his house. “Security forces defused five bombs planted on the road to target military patrols in the city,” he said.
