Iraqi FM discusses Saudi-Iranian relations with Saudi FM
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, held talks on Tuesday with his Saudi counterpart Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud regarding the results of his recent visit to Tehran, according to a statement of the Iraqi Foreign Ministry cited by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
The statement mentioned that Hussein received a call from Al-Saud in which the latter expressed the solidarity of Saudi Arabia with the Iraqi people and its support for the stability and security of Iraq.
The statement added that both sides discussed the results of the Iraqi minister’s visit to Tehran, and its positive impact on the bilateral relations between Riyadh and Tehran.
Earlier, the Iraqi Foreign Minister confirmed his country’s continued leadership of mediation to improve the relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia.
Fuad visited Tehran on Monday and discussed with his Iranian counterpart the bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to develop these relations, according to a press statement issued by the Iraqi Foreign Ministry.
The statement added that both sides discussed the regional developments, the Iranian-Saudi relations and developments related to the Iranian nuclear program.
