Basra police arrest chieftain

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: Police forces in Basra on Wednesday arrested the chieftain of al-Ghanim (Sunni) tribe in the province. “The arrest operation took place 20 km south of Basra city,” a local police source from the predominantly Shiite province told IraqiNews.com news agency. He noted that the chieftain is accused of terror cases. The oil-rich city of Basra lies 590 km south of Baghdad. MH (P)/SR 5
