Iraqi government agrees to implement agreement with Kurdistan on oil export

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Council of Ministers decided on Tuesday during its last session to implement the agreement between the oil ministry and the Kurdistan region to export crude oil extracted from the region, the official spokesman for the Iraqi government said. “The council decided during its 20th session to agree on the demand made by the oil ministry to implement the agreement with the Kurdistan region to export the crude oil extracted from the region through a company for marketing the crude oil,” Ali al-Dabbagh said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com news agency. Oil from the Kurdish regions of Iraq halted after just four months of exports in 2009. Iraq is still without a federal law governing the oil and gas sector in the country. SH (P) 2
