Talabani urges justice for victims of Feyli Kurds displacement

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi President Jalal Talabani on Saturday called for justice for the “crime” of displacement of Feyli Kurds. “These days coincide with the 30th anniversary of the tragedy of displacement of Feyli Kurds, one of the most heinous crimes perpetrated by the regime of despotism and dictatorship,” Talabani said during a ceremony to commemorate the displacement of Feyli Kurds in a speech read out on his behalf by his political advisor Jalal al-Mashta. Feylis are a group of Shiite Kurds who had been the target for organized displacement to Iran during the 1980s on the pretext that they belong to Iran.
