Talabani conditionally supports Shiite unity – statement

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi President Jalal Talabani expressed he supports a Shiite unity between the Dawlat al-Qanoon Alliance and the Iraqi National Alliance (INA), but he wants them to join roundtable negotiations with other political blocs. “The president wants Shiite Arabs, Sunni Arabs, and Kurds to unify to create national unity and a government of real partnership,” said a presidential release posted online on Sunday. However, the release did not explain whether Talabani wants the Dawlat al-Qanoon and INA to join a coalition or to form one bloc. MH (P)/SR 2
