Talabani, American ambassador review forming new government

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi President Jalal Talabani discussed on Monday with U.S. Ambassador in Baghdad Christopher Hill ways of boosting bilateral ties and the formation of a government of national partnership, according to a presidential statement. “The two officials exchanged views regarding the development of the political process,” said the statement received by IraqiNews.com news agency. “Talabani started after his arrival in Baghdad a series of meetings with several political powers within efforts to form a national partnership government,” it added. “The U.S. ambassador reiterated his country’s interest in the recent developments in Iraq and the U.S. intention to support democracy in the country,” it said.
