Dawlat al-Qanoon, INA to form big coalition soon – source
BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Dawlat al-Qanoon Alliance and the Iraqi National Alliance (INA) have reached an agreement to form a coalition that will be the biggest in Iraq’s new Parliament, a member of Dawlat al-Qanoon said on Monday. “The two blocs have agreed on the mechanisms to form a coalition between them,” Jassim Mohammed Jaafar told IraqiNews.com news agency. He explained that the issue of selecting the coming prime minister of Iraq will be achieved through other mutual mechanisms that the two blocs will implement later on. “The new Iraqi government will be formed after August 2010,” Jaafar noted. President of the United States Barack Obama has recently indicated that his administration plans to withdraw most U.S. troops from Iraq by the end of August 2010. Jaafar pointed out that Dawlat al-Qanoon sees a public interest in achieving a national partnership government, but has no interest in discussing this issue with Al-Iraqiya bloc, which wants to hold the prime minister position. “Iraq’s upcoming prime minister will be from either Dawlat al-Qanoon or INA,” Jaafar stressed.
