Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – In conjunction with the Turkish air strikes on northern Syria and Iraq, news reports mentioned that three areas in Erbil and Sulaymaniyah in northern Iraq were targeted on Monday night by Iranian missile strikes.

The reports confirmed that the U.S. Consulate in Erbil sounded warning sirens following the Iranian bombing, indicating that there are fears of an Iranian ground attack on Kurdish areas on the border with Iraq.

Iraqi media outlets reported that the bombardment inflicted casualties, noting that an Iranian drone bombed a camp for Iranian Kurdish refugees in Erbil.

The Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (PDKI) announced that the Iranian Revolutionary Guards had targeted two of its headquarters in Erbil governorate in northern Iraq.

The PDKI mentioned via Twitter that an attack was carried out by a ballistic missile and an explosive-laden drone.

A security source mentioned that the headquarters of an Iranian-Kurdish opposition party was targeted by three missiles in Koysanjak district in Erbil governorate, according to Alsumaria news.
