7 suspected robbers of gem stores in Falluja netted

ANBAR / IraqiNews.com: Policemen on Saturday captured seven suspected of armed robbing gold jewelry stores and money exchange offices in different areas of al-Falluja city lately, a local security source said. “The suspects were arrested upon warrants after intelligence was gathered by security agencies,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The suspects are now remanded under investigative custody,” he added. The arrests come after armed robbery operations that targeted gold stores in Falluja on June 26. One of the owners died of wounds he sustained during the robbers’ attack on his store. Falluja, the largest city in the predominantly Sunni province of al-Anbar, lies 45 km west of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. AmR (P) 2
