CBI governor discusses e-banking with Indian Ambassador
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) stressed on Monday the importance of exchanging experiences in the field of electronic payment with India, according to the CBI statement cited by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
The statement mentioned that the CBI governor, Mustafa Ghaleb, received the Indian Ambassador to Iraq, Prashant Bisai, where they discussed strengthening the bilateral ties between the two countries, especially the economic relations.
The two officials talked about providing banking services to the Iraqi community in India, as well as the exchange of banking expertise, the statement elaborated.
The efforts of the CBI focus on strengthening its relations with its counterparts in different countries, and with global financial and banking institutions, in a way that serves the interest of the Iraqi banking sector, the statement added.
Ghaleb stressed the importance of exchanging experiences in fields of electronic payment and banking technologies between the two countries, particularly that India reached an advanced level in these fields, INA reported.
Ghaleb also talked about the development initiatives that achieved success after their launch, INA added.
