Berlin (IraqiNews.com) – Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Al-Sudani is now in Germany to speak with key government officials and German corporations including Siemens about energy, petrochemical projects, and power.

Earlier today, Svenja Schulze, the German Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, met with Iraq’s Prime Minister in Berlin. They talked on the German-Iraqi partnership for enhancing Iraqi capabilities and knowledge to grow the private sector and the labor market.

The Iraqi PM also met with Frank-Walter Steinmeier, President of the Federal Republic of Germany. In order to further the interests of the two nations, they talked about ways to cooperate in the business and energy sectors.

Furthermore, Reuters reported that Al-Sudani is expected to sign agreements with Siemens. By constructing projects with a capacity of more than 6 gigawatts over the course of the following five years, it was reported that Siemens Energy intends to increase its partnership with Iraq. This will entail building conventional power plants, as well as creating renewable energy sources and stabilizing the Iraq’s electrical grid, according to Reuters.
