Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Iraq’s Foreign Ministry said on Monday that the 25th Gulf Cup, which is currently being held in Basra, has contributed to improving ties between Iraq and the Gulf.

The Ministry’s Baghdad headquarters hosted a symposium on Sunday with the theme “Foreign Policy and Sports Diplomacy, Sport is a message of peace and affection among peoples.”

According to the statement, hosting the 25th Gulf Cup in Basra is a starting point for improving bilateral relationships between Iraq and the Arab Gulf nations. It also adds to Iraq’s political standing within the Arab, regional, and global communities and gives it possibilities.
