Baghdad church attack leaves 133 casualties

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Casualties from the attack on a Catholic church in central Baghdad went up to 58 dead and 75 wounded, a security source said Monday. “Death toll of the attack on Our Lady of Salvation Church in Baghdad‘s Karada district on Monday went up to 58, including five attackers and seven security elements, while the wounded reached 75, including 15 army and police forces,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. The forces arrested nine gunmen and freed 50 hostages. About 100 people had been inside the church for an evening Mass. The Islamic State of Iraq group claimed responsibility for the attack. SH (P) 3
